Se la vie... perf.

Well... I suppose that after a year of silence, this blog should receive a little bit of attention!

So much has happened in the life of Lily Jayne... where to begin!

So far I've been happily and successfully single. I am currently enjoying a new position at Vivint, Inc (formerly APX Alarm) as a Housing Coordinator. I love it. Each day brings on new challenges and ways of thinking. I've grown a lot... unfortunately not in inches or feet, but I'm a bigger person in that I've matured a lot. I moved out again. I am now very pleased to be a resident of Highland Park #28. So far, everything about moving has been WONDERFUL. I've dated lovely people. I room with lovely people. I have a lovely place to call home. The commute to work is 15 minutes lovelier... I'm convinced life here can't get any more lovely.

This year, instead of making a New Year's Resolution, I made the resolution to not make a resolution and just go with the flow of life... let things happen...and approach everything as a learning experience. I've had no regrets in living this way so far. I love life. Even when it's so bipolar and out of whack. I am so happy to be alive and experiencing this small blip of a blip of an existence! I know that when trust is placed in God and he is allowed to be the architect of the way ahead, everything ends up working better than what would have otherwise. Sometimes… well, most of the time, He has a sense of humor and makes the way ahead more like an obstacle course (the kind you have to go through for trust exercises and team building activities) than just a smooth walking path. When I look back at the obstacles and challenges that I’ve faced in the past, I know that I have accomplished much and blossomed into a more seasoned individual. There is more yet to come! I am an infant in comparison to how much more there is to experience!

I just signed up for classes in the fall at Utah Valley University again! I will be taking Business Law, Accounting… and Golf. Just to keep things fun! I will also be maintaining a full work schedule. So far, I have no idea when I’m going to have time to be social or study... but, with the way I’ve been living life, I know that those things will work themselves out. I’ll be able to do anything I put my mind to. All that I need is what I have: Faith, commitment, determination, ability, confidence, and the Lord.

Whitney Miller, my darling, smart, gorgeous, exciting, lovely, wonderful best friend has ventured off to her mission this past month. As of today, she has spent 2 weeks in the MTC and will be leaving to the field at the end of August. She has been called to serve in the Concepcion South, Chile mission. For the next year and a half, I have a missionary. I am so excited for her and this wonderful, challenging journey she is embarking on. I love stalking her mission blog and reading about everything that she is experiencing and feeling. Sometimes, I wonder about where I would go if I were to serve a mission… hmmmm. I almost put my papers in once… I was encouraged to stray away from doing so because, “I’d be a distraction to the elders” and “should focus on marriage.” Well, we all know how that turned out… and it’s been GREAT! Ish. Perf. Woof. Gug…ish. But still perf. As I said before, I am happily and successfully single. This equation is not ready to have anything else added to it. Going with the flow and allowing life to unfold has been lovely.

This life is perfect.
